At home with Vesteda
Our mission statement ‘At home with Vesteda’ relates to everyone: (potential) tenants, investors, suppliers and employees. We want to be the best landlord in the Netherlands. To achieve this, we work with people from various disciplines and varied backgrounds to arrive at an optimal, professional cooperation. Achieving results is obviously important, but we believe that how we achieve those results is just as important.

No inappropriate behaviour
We actively participate in consultations aimed at addressing discrimination in the housing market. And we refuse to accept any inappropriate or discriminatory behaviour. As far as we are concerned, the religious beliefs, ethnic origins, disability, gender or sexual orientation of our (potential) tenants, investors, suppliers or employees play no role whatsoever in our considerations. Nor do we tolerate any form of verbal or physical discrimination, intimidation or aggression. Nor do we accept bullying, abuse and/or threats. If we are confronted with (suspicions of) inappropriate or discriminatory behaviour, we call out the person responsible. For that matter, inappropriate behaviour is not so much about whether someone intends to offend as it is about whether someone else finds their behaviour offensive.

Rental conditions
Our entire housing stock is listed on our website. When we rent out our homes, we apply the same – primarily financial – rental conditions to all (potential) tenants. When we allocate a rental home, we do not use waiting lists. Due to the nature and location of some residential complexes, we may differentiate according to age (55+ or 65+). To ascertain the financial position of a potential tenant, we request the original income data from that person’s employer, benefits institution or pension provider. We then verify these data with the organisation that provided the income data. If a potential tenant does not have sufficient income, or is unable to provide the correct information, we may refuse a viewing – with the aim of renting the home – without stating the reasons for this refusal.

We say no to discrimination, but yes to diversity
We are firmly opposed to discrimination, but we do promote diversity. At Vesteda, we have a wide range of tenants and employees of different genders, with different sexual orientations, of different ages and with different beliefs and cultural backgrounds.  We want everyone to feel at home with Vesteda.
