Vesteda’s ambition is to make its residential portfolio Paris Proof by 2050. The goal is to reduce CO2 emissions by 60% in 2030 and by 95% in 2050 compared to 1990. We intend to achieve the entire 60% reduction in 2030 by reducing the energy consumption of our homes (measured in kWh/m2). After 2030, our CO2/m2 reduction ambitions will focus on both reducing the energy use of our homes and on energy source sustainability measures to achieve the ultimate goal of a 95% CO2 emissions reduction in 2050. The current energy consumption of Vesteda homes averages 107 kWh/m2 (2022). Our goal is to reduce this to at least 86 kWh/m2 by 2030. To meet these sustainability targets, Vesteda has launched a number of projects, including making our portfolio more sustainable and achieving 98% green (A, B or C) energy labels by 2024, as well as the installation of free solar panels on our homes. Our sustainability goals are linked to the three pillars of ESG. ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance.
